Defense Minister Safar Abiyev says that Yerevan’s statements that the document signed between Russia and Armenia on military assistance meant Russia’s aid to Armenia in case of war are of political and psychological character, APA reports.

Minister says this is the indication of weakness, not of power.

Touching on the prospects of signing a Russia-Armenia kind of agreement between Azerbaijan and Turkey, Safar Abiyev said the agreement on strategic partnership and mutual assistance signed during the recent visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Azerbaijan also envisaged military assistance.

Asked about the extension of the use of Gabala radar Defense Minister said the term of the lease would expire in 2012, so it was early to speak about it.
